GRAND DÉFI PIERRE LAVOIE PRESENTS ITS RENEWED PROGRAM FOR 2021

This spring, we continue to protect ourselves and, above all, we continue to move together!
Boucherville, Wednesday, January 20, 2021 – Given the success of our virtual events in 2020 — with tens of thousands of walkers, runners and cyclists taking part, Grand défi Pierre Lavoie will return in force in June 2021 with a renewed, expanded edition of its 1,000,000 KM Together.

In the context of continuing uncertainty and the restrictions that will remain in place for quite some time, we are disappointed to announce that La Course, the Energy Cubes Challenge and its Grand Prize, The 1,000 KM and La Boucle will be put on pause once again for the 2021 edition of Grand défi Pierre Lavoie.

It’s an opportunity for our inclusive, free 1,000,000 KM Together event to rally all the participants of our annual activities into a most extraordinary single activity. From elementary school pupils to high-school, Cégep and university students, to the cyclists of The 1,000 KM and La Boucle, to our walkers of La Grande Marche, to businesses, volunteers, partners and beyond! With 2,057,136 kilometres collectively logged last year, the 1,000,000 KM Together goal was far surpassed. This year, all our efforts and all our teams will be focused on creating a major virtual event never seen before in Québec. We are profoundly motivated to tackle this ambitious challenge, because the need to keep active has never before been so necessary for our mental and physical health. We want to make this event a powerful driver to inspire people to get moving.

More details and surprises will be announced during the coming months.

Meanwhile, Grand défi Pierre Lavoie also wishes to announce its very inclusive and free winter event, La Grande marche sous zéro, to get people moving outdoors while experiencing the joys of walking in winter in Québec. Follow our communications for additional information as it is released. The event will be held virtually on February 19, 20 and 21.

We hope that many of you will participate in our 2021 program, at a time when the exceptional situation we are experiencing requires us to stand strong and take care of our health, for the well-being of all.
